FairyTale

"Fairy" is HDA's smallest pony. She is a 9.3h, 12-year-old Shetland pony mare. Fairy rides and drives and is very good with small children.

TattleTale

"Telly" is Fairy's son and was born on our farm. He turned three years old on Dec. 31, 2006 and he is already taller than his mom. When he is old enough, Telly will be trained to drive and ride and will eventually be used in the lesson program.  Telly is a chocolate palomino.

Scooby Doo

"Scooby" is a 11-year-old, 10.3h Pony of America (POA), which means that he has spots. Scooby drives and rides. He is really good on the trail. He's super friendly too.
Yabba Dabba Doo

"Yabba" is a 12-year-old, 11.2h Welsh pony. He rides English and western and also drives. Yabba can jump up to 2'6", which is pretty high considering that he's pretty small!  In 2006, he was Walk-Trot Champion at the St. Lawrence Valley Horseman's Association, along with one of our students.
Bah Humbug

"Humbug" is also a Welsh/half-linger cross pony.  He is nine years old. Humbug drives with Snickers as his partner and has  been taught how to ride. He likes to go forward a little more than Snickers.
Chickaboom

"Boomer" is a mustang pony who looks like Spirit! He is still pretty young (five years old).
Sam I Am

"Sam" is Emily's old competition horse. Together they have won lots of ribbons and hurdled very big jumps (3'6"). Now Sam is everybody's favorite lesson horse. Sam is only 5/8 of an inch too tall to be a pony.
Bold

Bold is a fairly new horse to HDA (Fall '05). (Tania rode him in a drill team, many years ago). He has been a lesson horse for SUNY Potsdam and goes English and western. He is now 23 years old.
Memorial Star

"Baby" is HDA's draft horse. Although Baby was not born on our farm, we have had her since she was 11 months old. Tania has trained her to drive, ride English, western and sidesaddle. Every year, Baby brings home lots of ribbons from the local draft horse show in halter, riding and driving classes. In 2005, Tania took her to the New York State Fair where she got two second-place ribbons in draft horse riding classes and was Second Reserve Champion. Baby also jumps and some of our students start to event on her. Check out Baby's Website.

Current Reality

"Chunk" is a 16.2h thoroughbred gelding. Originally purchased as a competition horse for Emily, we soon realized that he' liked doing lessons! Although he has a bouncy trot, it is slow.

FireFly

"Duey" is Fly's son and he was born on the farm. Duey is now ten years old and is taller than his mom. He was originally trained as a driving pony, but after being trained to ride, he's now very good in the lesson program. He has started to compete over fences (jumping 2'6").

Rock of Ages

"Rocky" is a Belgian/paint cross (half draft). Found in a farmer's field, he is now Tania's competition horse. Together they competed in eventing and  jumpers. In 2005, he placed second at the raining level at Touch A Rainbow Horse Trials in Ontario.  In 2006, he was fourth in yearend awards at Pennsylvania Jumper Association Hopeful Jumper Division.  He has come back home to H.D.A. to do jumper lessions.

Guido

Guido is a relatively new horse to Honey Dew Acres. Guido was bought as a competition horse for Emily.  He will be Emily's Competition horse this summer.  He also does lessons. He is about 16 years old and is very, very tall (17h). He has 4 white stockings and some white splotches on his belly.

Snickerdoodles

"Snickers" is a Welsh/halflinger cross pony (a draft pony). He is seven years old and is trained to drive single or as a pair with his brother Humbug. Snickers does lessons. He has a nice slow trot and canter.

Ivy League

"Ivy" is also a fairly new horse to HDA (she came with Bold). She is a seven-year-old thoroughbred.  Her quiet attitude has made her a great addition to our lesson program.

Daddy Said No

"Nome" is a 15.3h thoroughbred gelding that Emily recently bought (Feb '06).  He is seven years old and very quiet.

An American Tale

"Fievel" is a 19-year-old Welsh/Morgan pony. He is very well trained and loves to jump. He is also very smart.

Morning Phyre

"MuleGirl" is 15h, year-old, registered American quarter horse. Mule has very steady gaits which make her good for kids to start showing hunters in.  MuleGirl is also very good for eventing, because she puts in a very steady dressage test and good cross-country and stadium rounds.
